Wicked Ridge Raider 400 De-Cock: REVIEW
“We all know the inconvenience of carrying a target to discharge your arrow or shooting it into the ground after the hunt – the Raider 400 combines the convenience of de-cocking and speeds up to 400 feet-per-second at aprice-point affordable to all hunters,” said Phil Bednar, CEO. “The new Tactical Stock adds a new level of versatility to this crossbow while making it our lightest ever at 5.8-pounds, and the addition of a lighted scopebrings tremendous value in an American Built crossbow at $749.”
Newly Added Features to the Raider 400 De-Cock
Designed and engineered by industry leader Ten Point, Wicked Ridge Crossbows recently introduced a new AR style adjustable butt stock and lighted scope on their wildly popular Raider 400 De-Cock. Consumers now can choose between the company’s X-S Stock with built-in ACU draw De-Cock, or with the NEW, incredibly lightweight Tactical Stock with an AR style adjustable butt stock and Rope-Sled.
The new Tactical Stock adds a new level of versatility to this crossbow while making it their lightest ever at 5.8 pounds and an easy-to-handle 31.5″ long. The addition of a lighted scope brings tremendous value in an American Built crossbow as well.
The NEW Tactical Stock features an adjustable butt stock that locks in six positions and allows for up to 2.5″ of adjustability in five different 1/2″ increments. Designed to provide adjustability and versatility for all shooters, the stock dramatically reduces the overall weight of the crossbow as well – making it easier to handle.
The Raider’s patented D-1™ Trigger is Wicked Ridge’s smoothest trigger ever. This 2-stage, zero-creep design includes a new Dry-Fire-Prohibitor and delivers a consistent crisp, 3.5 pound pull. The simple push of a button moves the trigger to “de-cock” mode and allows the user to safely de-cock the crossbow with the built-in ACUdraw De-Cock crank cocking device or to manually de-cock the crossbow with the Rope-Sled.
The patented ACUdraw De-Cock silent cocking and safe de-cocking system features the company’s patented Auto-Brake Gear System that eliminates the potential of losing control which can lead to injury or costly bow damage during the de-cocking process. While de-cocking with the ACUdraw De-Cock, the user can remove their hand from the handle at any point and the handle will stop in place.
In addition, the easy-to-operate ACUdraw De-Cock reduces the effort required to cock the crossbow to just 5 pounds and is equipped with a 1,000-pound strength Nylon strap to reduce wear and abrasion.
The Wicked Ridge Raider 400 De-Cock features a powerful 185-lbs bow assembly consisting of a lightweight cast aluminum riser and machined aluminum limb pockets fitted with eleven inch WRX double-laminated limbs. Powered by speed designed, 5S Cams, and Dyna FLIGHT Ninety-Seven string and cables, the bow assembly measures a narrow 15″ wide and drives an arrow down-range up to a blazing 400 feet-per-second.
The Raider’s lightweight stock is molded from glass filled polypropylene, configured with optimal comb-height and length-of-pull, and features tactical cutouts to reduce weight and improve balance. In addition, large safety wings on top of the crossbow’s fore-grip help prevent a shooter’s fore-grip fingers and thumb from moving above the flight deck while shooting the crossbow.
The Raider Four Hundred combines the convenience of de-cocking and speeds up to 400 feet-per-second at a price-point affordable to all hunters!
